Having made the difficult to decision to put my granny into care due to her dementia, St Andrews House came top after reviewing many other care homes. Having stayed there for 1.5 years until her recent death, our choice was proven to be a wise one. The rooms are spacious and can be furnished to add a personal touch, with large ensuites. The home is kept clean and doesnt smell, and the food is of a very good standard. However it is the staff and the level of caring they provide for residents that is the clear reason for rating it Excellent. They treat residents with respect, there is an open door policy for visitors so nothing is hidden and they genuinely care about residents' wellbeing. They communicate well with family, and encourage residents to be social (while respecting their privacy and not treating them like children). They made Granny's final days as comfortable as possible - both for her, but also looking after the family members. If you are also making that difficult decision of putting someone you care about into care, then I cannot recommend this care home enough. (5/5)
