Yes, all these supermakets are formulaic and controlled from a centralised nerve and distribution centre - BUT, oh dear, shopping in Anstruther co-op is about as much fun as making use of their associated funeral services. Customer service is abysmal full stop. (Apologies to the occasional temp who smiles and trys!) It is a classic case of woeful customer service and apparently unmotivated staff. You cannot help but notice a total lack of direction, let alone enthusiasm borne out by the fact there appears to be nobody in charge present. The place is depressing and needs someone who can turn it round and engage with the local community on a wider and more successful basis. And you know, the sad thing is, it's not difficult to do!!
