The service was good, the food was extortionate! A low end curry started around £10 for the main dish without the sides or naans etc. And if you wanted prawns you'd have to pull out a mortgage with dishes starting at £18! The food was good but not that good. Would also have been a more pleasant atmosphere without the table of 30 toff students electing their fraternity president. (3/5)

I have been dining at the Balaka for many years and I can not fault it! They deliver consistently good food every time. Although a little expensive they do say you get what you pay for. A delightful family run restaurant that has been operating for almost 30 years I think. I highly recommend it! (5/5)

Overall OK. Used to be better I seem to remember. The food was tasty, good service but it was a bit expensive, the decoration is about 20 years out of date and the toilets were disgusting! Refused to do a poo there. (3/5)

Far too expensive for what they offer and has continued to slide down a very steep hill since the last time I gave them a chance. Seriously rice at £3.85 ? Forget it. I will now never be going back either. (2/5)

This once great curry house has definitely been resting on their laurels over the last few years. Now definitely middle of the road, albeit with prices which suggest much better. (3/5)
